How we source, review and maintain our directory of UK counselling placement providers — and what to do when something is wrong.

How listings are sourced

Listings are sourced from provider websites, NHS directories, charity registers, professional body listings, provider submissions and community reports. Curated information is checked against a public source available at the time; it does not mean current availability is confirmed.

What our listing labels mean

• Provider confirmed: the organisation has claimed or directly confirmed its connection to the listing.
• Independently checked: the listing has been checked against a public source.
• Curated from public information: details were collected from public sources and availability is not confirmed.
• Community submitted: a trainee, supervisor or other community member suggested the listing; it is reviewed before publication.

Corrections and availability

Placement availability, requirements and contact details can change at any time. “Last reviewed” means we checked the listing against a source on that date; it is distinct from provider confirmation and current availability. Use the Report an issue link on a provider page to request a correction, update or removal.
